About Centry

What does Centry do?

Centry helps globally mobile founders, investors and families restructure tax and optimise wealth so both work hand in hand. We combine in-house software with human Wealth Engineers and tax expertise to create one consolidated picture across tax, residency, entities, investments, property, digital assets, accounting, documents, deadlines and ongoing monitoring.

From this picture, Centry designs a wealth plan tailored to meet your specific objectives and constraints. The outcome is practical optimisation and recommendations, not just organisation: where to draw liquidity from, how to reduce unnecessary taxable impact, how to handle capital calls, how to spot avoidable fees, and how to make tax and wealth decisions work together.

Is Centry service or software?

Both. Centry has built its own software in-house and combines it with human expertise for speed, precision and efficiency. The software helps ingest information, structure the fact base, identify opportunities, support implementation and monitor changes. Wealth Engineers and tax professionals provide the judgement, review and execution oversight.

Is Centry a family office?

Centry is best described as a modern private office. It gives you the operating rhythm, visibility and implementation support of a family office without requiring you to build a full in-house team from day one.

Many people describe Centry as a multi-family office, and that label is broadly fair, provided it is understood as tax-led, technology-enabled and outcome-oriented rather than a traditional legacy family office.

Who is Centry for?

Centry is for people whose financial life has become too complex for disconnected advisers and spreadsheets. That often means globally mobile founders, investors and families with cross-border tax, residency, company, property, private investment, digital asset, estate planning or adviser complexity. The driver is complexity, not a published net worth threshold.

Tax

Does Centry give tax advice?

Yes. Tax restructuring is one of Centry's core areas of work. Centry provides tax advice in-house through a combination of bespoke software and Wealth Engineers who are legal professionals. Website content is general information only. Personal tax advice requires a client engagement, review of the relevant facts and documents, and appropriate jurisdiction-specific analysis.

What is the Centry tax process?

The typical process is diagnostic, detailed tax plan, implementation and ongoing monitoring. Centry first builds the fact base across residence, assets, entities, income, investments, family position, documents and deadlines. Then Centry prepares a detailed tax plan, supports implementation and monitors changes over time.

Can Centry help before moving country?

Yes. Centry can help organise the facts before a move, including current residence, destination rules, family location, company ownership, assets, income, investment accounts, property, deadlines and existing advisers.

Is the tax calculator advice?

No. The tax calculator is live, but it is an indicative planning tool only. It can help frame questions and planning scenarios, but nothing should be relied upon until a detailed tax plan has been undertaken and reviewed against the client's facts and documents.

Can Centry implement tax structures?

Yes. With client authority and appropriate professional input where required, Centry can help implement tax structures, submit forms, open accounts, instruct relevant parties and monitor the plan after implementation.

Can I use tax services without wealth services?

Yes. Many clients start with tax restructuring alone: residency planning, cross-border filings, entity structuring or compliance review. The wealth and tax services are designed to work together, but you are not required to use both. You can add wealth services later if and when it makes sense.

Wealth

Is Centry a wealth manager?

Yes, but not in the narrow traditional sense. Centry provides wealth management in the context of helping you build wealth and tax plans to achieve your goals. We also use sophisticated software to allow us to stay up to date with your changing context, to proactively perform automated analysis on a daily basis in order to act as always-on advisors. Where regulated investment advice or portfolio management is required, this is provided through our regulated partner Crito Capital, Empresa de Investimento, S.A., which is authorised and regulated by the CMVM in Portugal.

How does Centry optimise wealth?

Centry starts from your goals: what your wealth needs to fund, when, and under what constraints. From there we build a layered portfolio matched to each time horizon, with tax, residency, liquidity and structure planned together. Ongoing software-driven analysis tracks whether the plan still meets your needs and flags when adjustments are warranted, so wealth decisions are never made in isolation from tax consequences or life changes.

Can Centry help with private investments?

Yes. Private assets: private equity, private credit, venture capital and other alternative investments, have a role in many portfolios, but they come with illiquidity, capital-call timing, valuation uncertainty and tax complexity that generic platforms don't handle well. Centry integrates private holdings into the wider wealth plan so that liquidity, tax impact, diversification and time-horizon constraints are considered alongside public market positions. Recommendations are always driven by the client's personal circumstances, not a blanket allocation.

Can Centry help with crypto and digital assets?

Yes. Centry can map crypto holdings, staking positions and exchange accounts into the wider tax, custody, estate and wealth picture. The goal is to treat digital assets as part of the full plan, with proper tax treatment, reporting and liquidity planning, rather than leaving them as a separate blind spot.

Does Centry require assets to move?

No. Centry starts by understanding what exists today: accounts, assets, advisers, structures, obligations and goals. If a move, transfer, trade, custody change or account opening is appropriate, Centry can help implement that with client authority and the right professional or regulated partner involvement.

How is this different from a model portfolio?

A model portfolio picks a risk profile: cautious, balanced, aggressive, and allocates to that template. It doesn't know what you need the money for or when. Centry starts from what your life will actually cost: the known and the uncertain, and builds the portfolio in layers so every demand on your wealth is funded by the right kind of capital at the right time. The portfolio is the output of the plan, not the starting point.

What does 'liability-driven' actually mean?

It means we treat your future spending, tax events, property purchases, school fees, and retirement income as liabilities on a personal balance sheet, the same way a pension fund or insurer matches assets to obligations. Your portfolio is then engineered to meet those liabilities, with each layer of capital matched to a different time horizon.

What happens when markets fall?

Because the portfolio is built in layers, a market fall doesn't require panic selling. Near-term liabilities are already funded by cash and short bonds. Growth capital: equities, private markets, sits against liabilities decades away, where history shows that even major crises are mere blips on the long-term compounding curve. Your next five years of income remain untouched, the plan evolves around the recovery, and your lifestyle continues.

What custodians or brokerages does Centry use?

Centry can work with your existing custodians and brokerages, we start from what you already have. Where clients want a smoother automated process with lower fees, we typically use Interactive Brokers or Alpaca, both of which offer institutional-grade execution, broad market access and competitive custody terms. The choice depends on your plan, your preferences and what makes implementation simplest.

Can Centry help with estate and succession planning?

Yes. Centry can help map out how wealth transfers across generations, including ownership structures, tax implications of inheritance, trusts, family governance and cross-border estate exposure. The goal is to make sure estate planning is connected to the wider tax and wealth plan rather than treated as a separate exercise.

Does Centry include property in the wealth plan?

Yes. Property is often the largest single asset on a client's balance sheet, but it's frequently left out of portfolio analysis. Centry includes property holdings: residential, investment and commercial, in the overall allocation picture, considering concentration risk, liquidity constraints, rental income, tax treatment and how property fits against your other liabilities and time horizons.

How Centry works

What is a Wealth Engineer?

A Wealth Engineer is Centry's human lead for your financial operating system. They combine tax, legal, wealth and implementation thinking to help maintain one joined-up view of your tax, wealth, residency, entities, advisers, documents, deadlines and family goals.

Their job is not simply to coordinate advisers. Their job is to turn complexity into a plan, support implementation and keep the plan updated as your life changes.

Do you replace my existing advisers?

It depends on what works best for you. Many clients choose Centry as their single point of coordination for tax and wealth. Others prefer to keep trusted advisers in place and have Centry work alongside them, providing the central operating layer that connects everything into one plan.

Either way, nothing is disrupted without your agreement.

How does Centry coordinate advisers?

In many cases, clients transfer the core relationship to Centry because they want fewer moving parts and one accountable source of truth.

Where existing advisers remain involved, Centry clarifies who is responsible for what, prepares briefs, records open questions, tracks documents and deadlines, keeps a decision log and turns specialist input into an organised plan of action.

How does Centry use AI?

Centry is human-led and AI-supported. Our private agentic software stack helps organise information, model scenarios, identify optimisation opportunities, prepare workflows and monitor change. Consequential tax, investment, structuring and execution decisions remain reviewed by Wealth Engineers, tax professionals and, where required, regulated partners.

Is Centry regulated?

Yes. Centry operates as a tied agent regulated under the CMVM (Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários) in Portugal. We are subject to applicable EU regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, MiCAR and ESMA guidelines, and can serve clients across the broader European Union.

What happens after the first call?

If there is a fit, Centry begins with a diagnostic. We map your tax, wealth, residency, entities, assets, advisers, documents and upcoming decisions. From there, Centry prepares a detailed tax plan, supports implementation and provides ongoing monitoring so tax and wealth decisions continue to work together.

Is my information private?

Yes. Centry works with sensitive financial, tax and family information, so privacy is central to the service. Centry uses secure, access-controlled workflows, Swiss-hosted infrastructure and private data handling designed for sensitive financial information.

How often is the plan reviewed?

Continuously. The plan is not a one-off document; it's a live model that evolves when your circumstances change, when markets move significantly, or when tax rules shift. You receive regular updates showing whether your liabilities are still fully funded and whether any rebalancing is needed.

How does the always-on advisor get my data?

You choose the channel: forward documents to your unique Centry email address, share a folder on Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud or Dropbox, or send things over a secure messaging channel. Our AI pipeline reads what arrives and keeps your wealth map current. Routine, low-risk updates are applied automatically; anything requiring judgement is reviewed by your team, and anything material is confirmed with you first. You can disconnect a channel at any time.

Does Centry provide consolidated reporting?

Yes. Centry gives you one consolidated view across all custodians, asset classes, structures and jurisdictions. Rather than logging into five different platforms, you see your full position: public and private holdings, property, digital assets, entities and cash, updated and maintained as part of the ongoing service.
